Church---Finally!

One of the hardest things about having a baby is that 6-8 week period where you can't go in public.
Especially during cold & flu season.
Because unfortunately, even the sick go to church.
With Emerson's diagnosis we knew it would be a little longer than suggested before we returned to church.
And this past Sunday was finally the day.

I could not wait to be back in church.
We LOVE our church!
The worship and the Lords presence is always in full effect.

It was so wonderful to be back with our church family!

I knew I wanted Emerson to be anointed after our first drive home from Vandy after her diagnosis.
After church we went down front and met with our pastor and he anointed Emerson.
He prayed over her, praying for her health and her soul.
Such a sweet, sweet moment.
So thankful for our pastor and his heart!

"Is anyone among you sick?
Let him call for the elders of the church,
and let them pray over him,
anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord."
James 5:14

And we sang my favorite song:
God is Here
There is a sweet anointing in the sanctuary
There is a stillness in the atmosphere
Come and lay down
The burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here

Chorus
He is here, He is here
To break the yoke and lift the heavy burdened
He is here, He is here
To heal the hopeless heart and bless the broken
Come and lay down
The burdens you have carried
For in this sanctuary God is here

God was surely there!
It was so wonderful to be back to church.

Little Tiny Buz Lightyears

At what point did my child become old enough to look at undies in TarJay?  And at what point did someone say it was a good idea to buy them for him, then, to actually try them on and wear them?  Didn't I just give birth to this tiny human?  Didn't I just quit nursing him?  Didn't I just witness his first steps?

Well then tell me how in the sam hill is it possible that my child, is almost 3 and has now worn Buzz Lightyear's to school 2 days in a row now, accident free.

It's not possible. I don't believe it. Perhaps if I keep denying it, it won't be true.

However, on a positive note, he's basically taken this roll on himself. No one really pushed the issue. He did wear undies 2 Tuesdays ago when we stayed home from school with the fever of all fever's (that lasted a week!!!) and had no accidents but I didn't make the switch to wearing them to school until yesterday.

He'd been asking to go potty here and there. He'd mention others at school that wear undies. School by the way, is probably the main reason that I'm not cursing Potty Training. They are very routine in going to the potty and encourage it at every chance. He has an obsession with flushing, but they can only flush if they use it, thus encouraging them to use it.  So, Potty Training is happening.

Now, he'll probably kill me one day for posting this...but here goes.  All for memory's sake, right???

Friday night we were working at the new house, and he said he needed to go potty.  Did I have a potty?  Did I even have a spare diaper?  Nope.  We'd moved the car seat to Lance's truck and the diaper bag didn't make the trip.  So, as fast as I could, I found an empty cabinet box and set him on it.  And.  He went.  And. Just last night, we had the same scenario, except with undies and not a diaper, and I located the nearest 5 gallon bucket.  That brough a new obsession.  He thought he was SOMETHING going to the bathroom on that bucket.  He told us he needed to go potty about 17 times.  I think we did more of that than painting.

Can we please get toilets in the new house, ASAP, Boo?

I hope I haven't created a problem here!  We will be living in the country.  Eventually.  Perhaps we'll teach him to just go off the back porch!  Save some money on toilet paper.

Ahhhh.  The joys of boys.

Family Bowling

After so many days off from work and school, we were running out of things to do.
This apartment only has so many rooms...and you can only do so much in here before you go bonkers!

Easton has a phrase he says.
He says "I wanna do somethin fun".
That's normally how we can get him down for a nap with a promise of something fun when he wakes up.

Last nights 'somethin fun' was Bowling.
It was going to just be the three of us, but the whole Farrar clan was in on the bowling trip!

I'm pretty sure it's going to take a lot to top this fun.

We did end the night on a sad note.  Easton cried all the way home.  He doesn't cry.  Hardly ever, if at all.
However, he started crying and there was no consoling him.  Holding his stomach and arching his back like he had cramps or something.  This lasted all the way home.  Sad, sad boy.
He finally cried himself to sleep on my chest on the couch.
We had a long night on the couch together.  No more tears once asleep, thankfully.
I sure hate not knowing what's wrong.  I want to fix it so badly.

Happy New Years Eve!!!

Ginerbread House- a First for us both

I don't recall ever making a Gingerbread House when I was little.
It was a little more involved than I had expected, but we got it done and made memories while we did it!

I built the house the night before.  Who knew you had to let the thing set up for a few hours before you could decorate?  Yea.  Me neither.

However, night two.  We were ready.

I'm a little too Type A for this activity, as I wanted things symmetrical and balanced but after a few attempts to guide Easton where things should go, I gave up and did what I do best.  Take pictures.

He was so proud of the finished product!

I think it looks pretty good for two rookies.

I did however, see this pin on Pinterest and I think next year we'll make a Candy House with Pretzels instead of Gingerbread.

Happy Gingerbread House Making!
