Teething

Oh shoot.  I've heard about teething horror stories but they haven't applied to us.
Until NOW.
Easton's got 2 bottom molars coming in.
Bottom teeth 1 and 2 came in without so much of a drooly bib and
even top molar 1 came in and we didn't know till we stuck our finger in his mouth.
BUT, these bottom molars...holy cow.
We are a whiney, fussy, drooly, misreable mess.
Happy times of the day are happy, but fussy times (hungry, tired) are magnified by one zillion.
Thank God for Motrin & Tylenol.

Here's to hoping we ALL get a good nights rest and wake refreshed and happy.

BVE

'Round here we like to talk in code.  And as we said on our trip....this was the BVE....
Any guesses what it means???  I'll let you think about it while you look at the pictures.
Without further a-do, here's a little glimpse of our week at Rosemary Beach.

After a small scare with Kirbs and her back, she ended up being just fine and went on her yearly vacation too!

Lance said she won the best car rider award.
She was a little nutso for the first 2 hours on the way down, but after that she was smooth sailing.

Little Buddy likes to listen to Daddy's Ipod!
I believe we had a little Jason Aldean going right here.
He likes 'My Kind of Party'.

This is Easty's first picture with sand under his feet.
He LOVED all the 'wa-wa' and was smiling from ear to ear every day!

We had lots of seaweed but that didn't keep us out of the ocean.

The first day the skies were a little overcast, but it didn't stop us from playin in the sand.

I didn't get a full picture of Easton in this robe, but this is a partial glimpse of it.
I MADE IT!
It was sooooo cute!  It was just a little too warm to need a robe.
But I'm glad I made it!
Go HERE for the pattern and full tutorial.

This face sums up Easton's love for the beach!
Constant surprise. Happiness Guarenteed.

Every morning we had breakfast on the deck.
It was a sweet time together that I'll cherish forever.
I wish we could do it every day.
Boo, meet me on the deck in the morning at 6.  K???
Our breakfast for as many years as me and Lance have gone to Florida consists of something PLUS Cinnamon Sugar Donuts.
It's not vacation without these gems!!!
We introduced Easton to this sugary goodness last week!
HE LOVED THEM!!!

To me, bike rides were just as much fun as the beach.
We rented bikes for the week and had a great time.
Every time Easton got ont he bike, he got relaxed.
His helmet would slide down over his eyes and he'd slouch down.
He loved it as much as we did.  It was a nice quiet relaxing time together.
We love to ride around Rosemary and the neighboring beach communities and scope out big houses we'd buy if we had millions.  Dream Big right.
By the end of the week Easton was saying 'bike' and 'hat' for helmet.
He'd point to his helmet in the garage and say hat (which sounded like ha) and then point to his head.
He'd then proceed to hike his leg up while holding on to the bike.
He loved bike rides.

This was pretty much our set up every day.
This day we decided to roll the stoller, which was a MISTAKE.  That's like trying to roll a brick.
But that's our fancy schmancy beach umbrealla
We also lugged 2 chairs, a cooler, a beach bag, 3 beach towels, beach toys and a kiddie pool.
By the weeks end the pool stayed in the garage.
We used the God provided pool instead.

Easton mastered the kiss this week.
We got more kisses this week then we've had in a lifetime.
There's nothing better then an open mouthed kiss from this boy.

We're waiting VERY patiently for over an hour at Pinapply Willys.
It was a beautiful sunset.
Red sky.
I learned the following:
Red sky at night, sailors delight.
Red sky morning, sailors take warning.
It proved to be true every night.  Every night we'd have a red sky and the next day was full of sun!

Naps were a big part of this vacation.
At school Easton only takes 1 nap.
Vacation.  He needed 2.
Most days Lance would take a morning nap with Easton from 9:30 to 10:30.
We'd then head to the beach.
Then we'd have lunch.
Swim some more.
And I'd take the afternoon nap from 2-4 or so.  Sometimes later.
Then we'd get ready for dinner or whatever we'd do at night.
And normally bed time was about 9:30 or 10.
It was a nice routine.  I could get used to a nap a day.

The splash pad was one of the most fun nights we had.
We agreed to stay at Rosemary one whole day.  Not get in the truck.
It was awesome.  I got a feather in my hair.  We rode our bikes to dinner.
And we had an impromptu soaking at the splash pad!
He played for an hour.  Non Stop.
He had so much fun!!!

Lance went 'fishing' every afternoon.
He would swim about 30 yards out where the water was crystal clear.
And he'd have to go about 30 feet down.
But what he found was his treasure of the week.
He found a wishing well full of sand dollars.
The big ones were at the bottom.
The small ones lined the shelf that led to the bottom.
Thousands of them.
We let them dry out then soaked them in bleach.  Now, they're white as snow.
I've got a plan in my head with how to display them.

This picture might rank up there with POTW {Picture of the week}
Don't ask how they look raised, but they do.  I assure you these were prints but magically photographed opposite.  Pretty cool huh?

Now, if that middle picture isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen I'm gonna call your bluff.
Look at that neck.
That bottom lip stuck out.
Gosh.
And, that pic on the right.  Help me.
Nothing better than a little boy holding daddy's hand and looking up at him.
Sweet sweet.

We had sand everywhere.  All day.  Every day.  All week.
In our hair.  On our feet.  In our mouth.  In our sheets.
But we loved every minute.

SO, have you figured it out yet.
BVE= Best Vacation Ever!!!!!

Oooooo....and I got my first La Vie Est Belle Pearl!!!!
Hoping that's a new tradition as well!
Thanks Boo & Little Boo for my necklace!  I LOVE IT!

But, back to reality.
Back to school.
Back to work.
Back to heat with no ocean.

We'll see you next year Rosemary.  Save us a sunny spot!

Just another Wednesday Night

Tonight we had to find the tent to see if it was acceptable to take on our beach trip.  Forget just looking at the picture on the outside of the tent bag...lets set it up in the middle of the living room.  Sounds logical, right???

But hey, it's about making memories right?
And...Easton thought it was marvelous.  Kirby liked it too!

Beach tent??? Not so much.
The hunt continues.
Any suggestions on what you take to the beach to provide some shade???

Happy 4th!

We celebrated the 4th on the 3rd & 4th.
Double the BBQ
Double the Pasta Salad
Double the Potatoe Salad
Double Desserts
Double the FUN!

Sunday night we went to Beth & Michael's.
Between the 3 couples, we had 4 littles.  All Boys. Ages 6 months to 2 years.
Everyone played great together and had a big time playing outside.

I love the red cheeks on the big boys.
They were playing hard!

We ended the night with a fireworks show.
The boys weren't too sure about them,
but I guess that's to be expected of large loud explosions near by in the sky.

Monday we stayed home for the most part of the day then we went to Honey's house for BBQ & Fixin's...

and some swingin'...

Easty loves to SWING!

And...my signature item because everyone loves Dipped Pretzels...

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!

Thanks to all those who have served or are serving our Country fighting for our Freedom!
And thanks to the families of those service men & women- a huge sacrifice on your part too.

Sips & Strokes

GIRLS NIGHT OUT!
Watch out, we might get crazy!

We celebrated both of our Birthday's last night!

We went to Sips & Strokes in Hendersonville and had the best time.

It was so nice to have a night, just me and Brooke.  Our kids are WONDERFUL, but still, to eat dinner without having to get out the dust buster and to drive without your shoulder coming out of socket from handing back toys, sippies, passi.  And to know they were in good care even if it wasn't our care.
It was a great night.

Daddy & Easton had a big time at home- boys night in.

So, this was my first experience with Sips & Strokes.  We sipped Dr. Pepper.  Don't worry.  We weren't too wild.  But you start with a blank canvas and some paint on cardstock and 3 brushes.  The instructor guides you through every step.  I may or may not have followed the paint mixing instructions.  I wanted turquoise or red to go in my new craft room but it didn't quite work out.  But, the Funky Owl is still cute and will have her place in my craft room.  And I might have found another item to buy at Hobby Lobby.  Canvas & Paint.  Great.  My check book thanks you, Brooke!
