21 Months

This weekend we took advantage of the slightly warmer than usual weather and sunshine.
And it fell right on Easton's 21 Month Birthday.
Here are my favorites from the day.

21 Months is proving to be even more fun than the rest.
More conversations.
More words.
More teaching.
More learning.
More instruction.
More helping hands.
More smiles.
More laughter.
More work.
More discipline.
More love.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could love a child this much.
But every day my heart fills with more love.

Pictures with Santa...take 2

For the past 2 years Bob hasn't put up lights...
but this year, he didn't disappoint.
The house looked amazing.
One little boy in particular sure did enjoy the 'yights' every time we drove past.

This year he also did the free pictures with Santa.
We made sure to get there a little early so Easton could watch him get ready
and know it was him underneath the costume.
Child has no fear.

I think we had right at 100 kids and at least 15 dogs this year.
Each child left with a balloon and a candy cane.

I know it's a lot of work for Bob, but it's such a neat experience for those of us that help him.
To have those come for pictures with Santa and let them know it is indeed FREE.
Some offer to pay or donate, but to just smile and say it's free is a true gift.
To watch Bob with the kids, listening to them roll of their lists of the latest and greatest is really touching.
I'm sure some of these kids don't even have half the Christmas we are blessed to have.
I wish there was some way we could make all their wishes come true.
But, for this one night, they have met Santa- and believe that their wishes have been heard.

Here's to you Bob- for spreading the love that Christmas is really all about.

Mexican & Bass Pro

To me...it really doesn't get much better.
Especially when it's with these two.

Robinson Christmas Get Together

We had a before Christmas, Christmas Get-Together at Jay & Erin's house.
It was fun to be together and not have to rush off to the next location.
Maw-maw aka Grandmomma to most...but
refers to herself as maw-maw to Easton.

{Here's that little project I mentioned earlier}

{have I ever mentioned he's my favorite father-in-law?}
wink wink bob

We changed into our jamma's before we made the drive home.
He was out before we got out of the driveway.

Papa

There's something really special about the bond between my dad and Easton.
I love to see them play and interact together.
My dad has the patience of Job and will sit for hours if need be with a book.
And tonight, this is exactly what Easton wanted.
They had the best time reading books together.

It also gave momma a little free time to clean up supper and start on a little project for Easton.
All before bath.
Now that's reason to smile!

Taking time for him

It's so easy for me to come in from work and get right to it.
Laundry, supper, cleaning up, picking up, busy. It's non stop.

But then, I have a fussy boy. A needy boy.  Attached at my leg.

But- if I stop- sit down with him, read a book, eat a snack, he's happy as a lark.
And really, that's what's important.
Time with this little boy who is growing so fast.  Too fast.
All that other stuff can wait.
All he wants to do is sit in momma's lap.
And I'll be dang if I'm going to let him down.

Peanut, Peanut Butter....and 'nana

We're in the picky toddler eating phase.
Some days he loves chicken.  Others, not so much.
One day he wants more turkey sandwich 'wan-wit' next time he turns his nose up.
MOST DAYS though, you can bet your bottom dollar that he'll eat PB&B.

See...proofs in the pics.

Even though we have to change clothes after peanut butter, it's totally worth it.

Clean plate makes mommy happy!

He will never refuse blueberries, pretzels, marshmellows, grapes, bread of any kind, sweet potatoes, applesauce or spaghetti.
If all else fails feed him those.
