Nap Time...

Yesterday, every attempt was made to get a nap in his crib.

First attempt- let him fuss for 15 minutes, rocked 15 minutes, put him back in his crib with passi- returned to his room 9 zillion times because his passi would fall out (darn that passi- it's a love\hate relationship I have with the thing---it's great if you are willing to put it in every time it falls out and it does quiet a fussy baby but if you can't commit to putting it back in his mouth, you'd better not even start it because when he loses it...you know what happens)- ended up in swing asleep for remainder of nap until time to eat again.

Second attempt- looks similar to above scenario- but final nap was on our bed in his boppy while I got ready.  He likes the sound of the hair dryer.  :)

Third attempt- Nursed, changed diaper, woke slightly, laid him right down in his crib- SLEPT FOR NEARLY 2 HOURS!!!!!!!!!  Here's the proof!

(Sorry about the quality, I took this pic from my phone)

To say I was thrilled would be an understatement- I felt as if I had climbed a mountain or run a marathon and finished first!  It's now the little things in life that make me happy.  It's amazing how your priorities change when you have a baby and how its the little things like a successful nap or a burp after a feeding or a smile when he hears your voice or staying on routine that absolutely make your day.  It's times like this when all the sleepless nights (however he's doing pretty good at that too- waking every 3-4 hours to nurse) are erased and you have nothing but happy thoughts. I know God gives us those happy times so we stay motivated!

We are trying the BabyWise technique, and it's working pretty well.  We stay on a 2 1\2 to 3 hour feeding schedule and so far, it's working out nice.  Bridget did BabyWise with her little angel and he was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks so I'm willing to try anything.  Of course, every baby is different and there are times when we stray from the schedule (like this morning when he got up at 4:45am to nurse and was supposed to nurse at 6am) but you just adjust. I'm a bit anal- so adjusting is a hard thing to do for me, but I'm learning.  We're learning together.

Have any of you done BabyWise?

Do you have any tips or tricks that worked for you to get your child to sleep through the night?

On a side note, Easton and I went for a walk with our new jogging stroller on Wednesday.
Here was my view for the walk...

Look at those legs---he's a good eater, what can I say?!!?!?

So far, the stroller has proven to put him right out.  We didn't get to walk yesterday because it was cool and windy, but today is going to be warmer and sunny so we'll see if a walk is in the works.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend!
