The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale

This was our 2nd Barn Sale.
This year we knew what to expect and how to prep.
It's always nice going into something as a 'veteran'.

I'm just the 'hired help' when it comes to barn sales.
Cindy (my mother in law) does all the hard work on the front end.
We all chip in a few things here and there, frames, canvases, dresses, rulers, etc. but she puts in the big stuff.
The substance to the booth.

We worked HARD and LONG the weeks leading up to the barn sale.
It's nice once its over to see the reward to your hard work!

Take a look at our booth and see whatcha think!
I think it's pretty dang cute!

Yes.  There's a Sonic cup.  Surely you didn't think we could do all this unloading and set up without some get-up-and-go didja?!?!?

Our booth changes so much as the sale goes.  Each time we sell a big piece, we go back to the trailer for another piece.

This view brought to you from the bucket of a John Deere Tractor.
We had to get up in the tractor to hang sheets to provide some shade to the heat and sun.
It. Was. SCORCHING.

We had a little bit of everything!  And just about everything sold.
The only big item left was the grey dresser in the top picture.  Everything else..GONE!
And dresses?  Sold 39.  I'll be sewing till the cows come home. Thank you Jesus.
Rulers?  Sold out.  Only made 5.  Should have made many more.

This Barn Sale was one for the record books for sure!
We were thrilled with the turn out and the vendor selection was amazing.
And the food vendors...just let me get your taste buds rolling for a minute.
The BEST Chicken Salad roll up was made by the talented Linda Van Etten Rausch of Everyday Gourmet.  If you're local, check her out!
And my side of choice was mady by The Chocolate Covered Strawberry.
They made the best ever fruit salad.
What's so special about fruit salad?
Well, this fruit salad was swimming in some sort of creamy AU jus that I literally drank after I had eaten all the fruit.  I'm searching for this recipe high and low.  I'll make sure to tell you when I find it.  And if you know what I'm talking about, please, spill the beans!

Be sure to check out The Strawberry Patch facebook page to see more from the amazing vendors!  Christy sure knows how to put on a great event!

If you have the opportunity to make it out to the Spring or Fall Sale next year, YOU SHOULD!

Thanks to all who came out to support handmade & local businesses!

  3. I fell in love with that Mustard skirt/dress the moment I saw it!! It was wonderful being your Barn Neighbor and watching the lines form for your adorable dress...39...HOLY COW!! I like that you used the word SCORCHING...I was trying to think of a word...HOT, just doesn't come close;)) But you know what hit me, as we were driving home the first night...I now know how Shadrach, Meschach, and Abednigo (sp?) could dance in the fire...their angel was there with them. Annie...we were surrounded by angels, all of the kindred spirits popping in and out of our booths, all the sister vendors swinging by to compliment us on our "wares"... What Joy Abounded!! and then to find out...we're family?!? Heavens to Betsy!! Won't ever forget this one!

  8. The sale was so awesome! Thank you soooo very much for visiting my blog to read my recap of my first ever barn sale! I had wanted to come with a friend but couldn't get off work as early as she did. Soooooooo, I decided to try to find it on my own. 60 something miles and in some country that I am very unfamiliar with. My GPS took me right to it! And what a wonderful afternoon it was! Maybe one of these days I will be a vendor myself. Your booth was wonderful. Sounds like you had great sales. Congratulations on a job well done. Blessings.
